On July 24 at 22:30 local time in Mangystau, drilling of the inclined-directional well No. 305-N began at the "Karaturun East" field with a depth of 1200 meters (vertically) to address the consequences of the accident at well No. 303 that occurred on June 9. The AIDECO-160 rig is being utilized. As of July 25, drilling has been completed to a depth of 68 meters below the conductor. As of today (July 26), drilling operations are ongoing.

The drilling of the inclined well is accompanied by telemetry monitoring and downhole tools to control wellbore trajectory, detect gas manifestations, and monitor all drilling technological parameters. This allows us to conduct accident mitigation activities in the safest manner possible. The operations are proceeding according to the action plan," noted Alexander Kasyanenko, Chief Geologist of "Buzachi Oil" LLP.

The decision to develop individual technical projects for drilling two inclined-directional relief wells was made by the Accident Elimination Headquarters, considering the opinions of experts from the oil and gas industry and relevant ministries.

All activities related to accident consequence mitigation are coordinated with the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Akimat of Mangystau Region, and local authorities.
